The Midnight Sound is a St. Louis-based band bringing a darker, soulful edge to rock, blues, and everything in between. Built around powerful vocals, gritty guitar, deep grooves, and a love for songs that have something to say, The Midnight Sound creates a sound that feels both familiar and unexpected.

Drawing inspiration from blues, classic rock, soul, alternative, and the counterculture spirit of late-night radio, the band puts its own stamp on every song. Expect familiar favorites reimagined with more grit, groove, atmosphere, and attitude—alongside songs that may surprise you.

Whether we're turning a classic into something heavier, slowing things down and getting soulful, or locking into a groove that refuses to let go, The Midnight Sound is about creating a live experience that feels spontaneous, authentic, and a little dangerous.

Coming off of a long time band dissolving, lead guitar player Scott was looking for something new. Having posted on Craigslist/FB looking to start a heavy blues/stoner metal project, Scott stopped by bass player Misha's shop after posting and "The Project" was started. A few drummer tryouts later we had the foundation of the sound.

Lead Singer Brianna Sabatino joined after having worked with Misha in other bands and the stars have finally aligned with Diamond DeSilva joining us on drums! Ironically, from Scott coming across Diamonds CL ad.

After the first time playing together there was no doubt that this one is going to be good - and with the addition of veteran Keys player David Dodson, it's about to be great! Stay tuned!

Brianna Sabatino

Lead Vocals

Brianna Sabatino is a seasoned vocalist whose sound blends the grit of rock with the soul of blues. A lifelong music lover, her passion for singing was sparked early on by her musician father, who inspired her to find her own voice and tell her story through song.

Offstage, she is a devoted wife and "boy mom", balancing family life with her artistic pursuits.

Misha Avrushenko

Bassist

Misha has spent more than three decades in the trenches of independent music. He has carved out a career rooted in punk energy, indie grit and relentless touring across the United States.

Diamond DeSilva

Drummer

Influenced by the vibrant sounds of Sri-Lankan, Blues, Jazz and good old fashioned Rock music, Diamond brings a unique energy to the mix. His dynamic drumming captivates and grooves audiences

David Dodson

Keyboards

An established player in the St. Louis music scene for over three decades, David has been an integral part of an array of St. Louis bands representing diverse musical styles including, Alt-Rock, R & B, Classic Rock, Funk, Americana, Pop, and Classic Country. While characterizing himself as “a quintessential cover guy,” David has also been a studio session contributor for a number of emerging local and national acts.

Scott Rhea

Scott brings a raw, heavy edge to The Midnight Sound's blend of styles.
Raised in a musical family, with both his father and 4 uncles and aunts playing guitar, Scott’s connection to the instrument runs deep. His playing channels flashes of Texas blues and the boundary-pushing spirit of classic rock, fused with the grit and weight of ’90s grunge and hard rock. Scott also actively performs around the STL area in a blues band, keeping his sound rooted in tradition while pushing The Midnight Sound into heavier territory.
